Discover the calming power of mantra meditation

The word mantra is well used in the world of wellbeing, but what is a mantra? A sanskrit word, mantra has many meanings in many cultures but in sanskrit “man” means mind or to think and “tra” to cross over or journey. Essentially, using a mantra is a way to use your mind to reach a different emotional state.

A mantra is a short sound, word or even a phrase that you repeat. While it’s considered wise to avoid too much repetitiveness in day-to-day life, there actually lies strength in repetitiveness when it comes to mantra meditation. Mantra meditation is where you use a continuously repeated mantra to transcend your mind into a state of mindfulness and ultimate calm.

Transcendental meditation (TM) was created in India in the mid-fifties and revolves around a repetitive mantra – a word or sound that is repeated softly time and time again, in a gentle flow of sound. The technique promotes a state of relaxed awareness and access to a higher state of consciousness. This meditation below guides you in how to use mantra meditation to connect to your deepest and truest self, where you can enjoy a grounding and calming state of mindfulness.
